Why don’t you offer more RYA practical boating courses?

We would love to…..but our location means we can’t.

We are 15 miles from the open sea via. the River Ribble.

The stretch of river between the marina and the sea is very tidal, and only navigable for around 3 hours once a day (in daylight).

There is not enough time to get out of the marina to the sea and back again within that tidal window.

Most practical courses require you to be in open and deep water for around 8 hours per day – so there just is not enough water for long enough to run practical courses here.

Also there are not enough “bolt-holes” or safe havens to escape to within reach in case something goes wrong.

This is why we can’t offer more RYA practical courses.
