If you are looking to keep a boat at Preston Marina (other than short term visits) then you will need to make an application which will be reviewed by us.

In order to do this we ask for the following please;

  1. Fill out our Berthing Licence Application form – download here (or collect from our office)
  2. Please provide us with at least 1 recent photo of the boat (unless the boat is already at Preston Marina).
  3. Please provide us with a copy of the boat’s valid insurance documents (see below)
  4. If the insurance requires it please also supply a copy of the most recent survey report for the boat.
  5. Please supply some proof of ID (Drivers licence / passport)
  6. Please supply proof of residence (utility bill etc)

We will then consider your application for a berth at Preston Marina, also subject to availability.

Visitor berthing rates will apply until a long term berthing contract is agreed.

Please note…

If your boat’s main propulsion is a PETROL ENGINE please click here before making an application.

PROJECT BOATS are not accepted for berthing at Preston Marina

LIVEABOARDS –  we do not offer residential berths. Liveaboards who are continuously cruising may be accepted for short term berthing. (A “semi-residential” surcharge will apply)

INSURANCE – at least 3rd party insurance, minimum liability limit £3,000,000 including wreck removal and pollution clean up in the name of the boat owner must be carried – in date and with all assumptions and conditions of the policy being met to ensure cover.

SUSTAINABILITY BOND – Older and / or lower value boats may require a refundable bond payment – please click here for more information.

New to boating? – or unfamiliar with the Lancashire coastline? – please click here for some information we think you should know….

Berthing contracts are not transferable.

If a boat is sold while at Preston Marina the existing berthing contract between the seller and Preston Marina remains in place and ongoing indefinitely until a new contract is agreed.   The new owner must apply for a new berthing contract as above (although photos of the boat will not be necessary).
