Narrowboat Mooring Scheme
Preston Marina announce the trial of 2 brand new non-residential mooring schemes for narrowboats—if successful we hope this will become a permanent arrangement.
No licences or safety certificates are required to moor a vessel at Preston Marina, although moorings are offered subject to application to and approval by Preston Marine Services Ltd. (PMS).
Moorings are offered subject to the conditions of the Yacht Harbour Association (YHA).
General marina facilities include 24 hour toilet and shower access, token operated laundrette, car parking, Calor gas, diesel, small domestic waste removal, elsan disposal, chandlery and coffee shop open 7 days per week.
Applications for this scheme must be with PMS before 31st March 2011 and moorings are offered on a first come first served basis.
Scheme One
Unlimited access to vessel (although non Residential Status).
16 Amp metered electrical supply – charged at £25 per quarter plus units used.
All year water availability via nearby hose (although may be temporarily turned off in freezing weather).
Post handling
10% discount off Preston Marina chandlery purchases (terms and conditions apply)
Scheme One is available by 12 month contract for £130 per metre inc VAT
6 months = £78 per metre
3 months = £39 per metre
Scheme Two
Ability to stay on Vessel between 1st March – October 31st. Maintenance visits available year round.
Moorings are on pontoons on south side of basin
Water supply via. nearby hose March – November

5% discount off Preston Marina chandlery purchases (terms and conditions apply)
Scheme Two is available by 12 month contract for £87 per metre inc VAT
6 months = £53 per metre
3 months = £27 per metre
Extra discount is available for those prepared to raft-up, at the discretion and approval of PMS - minimum of 2 bookings required for this discount
Broadbeam vessels subject to 30% surcharge on above rates.
Daily rate - £10 per night per boat. (Electricity hook-up £2.50 per night)
