We love being able to offer interesting boats,
and this one without doubt meets that basic description (in a
good way!)
We are a great believer in the philosophy that
the best boat you will ever own is the smallest one that will do
what you want to do – and if you want to sail long distances
short handed then this is an extremely well thought out and well
equipped boat exactly for that purpose.
A brief word on the Corribee class itself –
“renowned for its sea keeping ability and great performance”
(Wikipedia), a favourite among serious sailers who know that
less can often be more – famously this is the type of boat Ellen
MacArthur commenced her illustrious endeavours on with her round
Britain solo-expedition. “Kudu” is a rare bilge keel example
(most Mk. 1 Corribees are fin keel)
“Kudu” has been re-fitted to
a highly practical standard by her current owner to be capable
of a solo-round Britain expedition, and indeed he has covered
many thousands of miles on her in the past year to prove that
capability. The website
http://onkudu.com/
provides an incredibly
detailed, fascinating and entertaining account of “Kudu’s”
adventures. In fact, interested buyers will not find a better
source of information on this boat than on this website (making
this possibly the easiest boat description this Broker has ever
had to do!)
