Offered for sale by the yacht’s original owner
(although others have owned her between new and now), “Laranza”
is practically 100% original – but to be fair she does need some
work to make her as good as she could be. Without doubt however
she has retained her charm. Is that photo not exactly how a
yacht should look?
Some words from the Hurley Owner’s Association
website about the Hurley 18 in general;
“The 18
shares the same long keel design as its bigger sisters, the H20
and 22. This, together with a good ballast/weight ratio,
explains why it has a reputation as a stiff and comfortable boat
at sea, with excellent ability to work to windward. 18 ft pocket
cruisers will not be expected to have a spacious interior, but
the interior layout of the 18 is very realistic in its
ambitions, making it a very pleasurable boat. Designed in the
mid-60s, many are still cruising UK waters - in fact, judging
from user responses, 18s have found their way all over the
world. Just like the 22, the 18 can best be described as a
'proper little ship'. “
