This is truly one of those boats which will draw much admiration wherever she goes.

The Sharpie will appeal to those who have considered a boat in the style of the Drascombe Lugger, sharing many of the Lugger’s including a similar rig, layout and performance – but with the ownership implications of a wooden boat.

An interesting feature this owner has added is a set of “ballast floor boards” which he claims add stiffness undersail in heavier conditions, although more often than not he has used her on the lakes with a lighter set of floorboards with which she is lively and rewarding under sail – he claims to have had her on the plane!

Something a little different and undoubtedly full of charm.
